Institute for Cyber Security

The Institute for Cyber Security (ICS) conducts basic and applied research in partnership with academia, government and industry. The Institute's Executive Director Prof. Ravi Sandhu reports to the Dean, College of Sciences. ICS is formally a unit within the Department of Computer Science within the College of Sciences.

In 2017 ICS established the NSF-supported CREST Center for Security and Privacy Enhanced Cloud Computing (C-SPECC), in partnership with UTSA's Colleges of Sciences, Engineering, Business and Education, and UTSA's Open Cloud Institute, and its Cyber Center for Security and Analytics.
